Zombucks Dying Eagle is an infected version of the Flying Eagle Cent that was designed by U.S. Mint engraver, James Longacre. The one-cent coins were produced by the U.S. Mint in 1856 and circulated from 1857 through 1858. The original design features a graceful bald eagle in flight, but it was quickly retired in 1859. Augustus Saint-Gaudens said the flying eagle image at that time “is by all odds the best design on any American coin.”

The once majestic bird now soars on the obverse of each 1 oz Silver Dying Eagle, having fallen victim of the relentless apocalypse. Its decomposing body is weak, bone and atrophied muscle are exposed where beautiful plumage once existed – many feathers fall from the eagle’s carcass on the design. “DYING EAGLE,” “Z FIFTY” and “2019” are inscribed.

Having no bounds, not one person or animal is safe from the apocalypse. The Flying Eagle becomes the second creature to contract the zombie curse, following the now-contained Zombucks Zombuff.

A biohazard symbol remains on the reverse to remind survivors of the harrowing times. “ZOMBUCKS,” “CURRENCY OF THE APOCALYPSE,” and “1 oz .999 FINE SILVER” are engraved around the zombie-splattered biohazard symbol.
